Andrew has an extensive background in yachting, boat detailing, training, management, and marketing. He worked on several yachts in the 1990s as a deck hand and then first mate (the “Moon River”, “Fifty-One”, and “Bellavia”). He additionally worked as a Restaurant Manager with Pizza Hut UK, a Franchise Development Manager for Alamo Rent-a-Car, and an Information Systems Manager for Magellan Aerospace Corp.
Andrew has spent the last 18 years as Owner & CEO of Ten-Tex Boating, a Ft. Lauderdale-based professional boat/yacht detailing specialist company that annually manages over 100 boats.
Andrew's passion is to enable the MDA Marine Detailing Academy to become a tangible success and support future graduates in realizing their dreams of securing employment in the yachting industry, being experts in boat detailing services or opening their own detailing businesses.
In 2006, Andrew Gardner founded Ten-Tex Boating, a Ft. Lauderdale-based premier mobile, boat, and yacht detailing specialist business that offers a range of services to boat owners. The company is licensed and insured to work in all major marina and boat yards throughout the southeast coast of Florida. Mr. Gardner is responsible for day-to-day operations and management of over 100 client vessels annually as well as the development of six professional full-time detailers.
